Hello! I am Serena, an Australian adventure, travel and landscape photojournalist based in Iceland.
My home is always where my camera is. I find pleasure in the simple things in life and am constantly seeking these wherever I go. Some of my favourite things include slow mornings, long afternoons, pots of tea, cooking, trips away, small farms, seasonal foraging, markets, gardening and trekking about in the fresh air. I am inspired by the changing seasons, rainy days, big cities, expansive countryside, the sun on my face, driving on open roads, misty mountains, living organically, generous conversation and free-spirited people.
This is my space – a compendium of my adventure, travel and landscape ventures. My drive is to capture and share moments from a simple and slower pace of life. For me, photography is about appreciating and documenting the story from the ground up. Travel alludes to constant wandering, learning, as well as seeking to experience culture and adventure. In my world, meeting with others is the ultimate thrill – it is about the pleasure of emotional connection; understanding, watering and tending to the roots from which we grow.
I aim to be inspired and to know that it is possible to keep creating… to live a life that is dynamic, visionary and productive. I find a certain comfort in capturing what goes on around me and in appreciating the simplicity of single moments where being alive provides the ultimate peace. If you happen to connect with my work, then I would love for you to leave a comment somewhere – it always makes my day.
“I never found beauty in longing for the impossible and never found the possible to be beyond my reach.” – Ayn Rand
